Sejal Shah-Myers is the executive director and the only paid staff member of Springboard Foundation, a volunteer-run organization. Springboard is a membership of more than 40 volunteers who have pooled their resources to make grants to afterschool programs in high-need neighborhoods in Chicago. Her main duties are to provide the administrative backbone of Springboard, develop relationships with members and grantees and bring information, trends, and innovations in afterschool programs to share members. Sejal has been working in and around nonprofits for the past 17 years. In addition to grantmaking she has worked as a fundraiser and consultant to nonprofits at The Alford Group. She was most recently the director of corporate partnerships at the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Before that she was manager of donor services at The Chicago Community Trust. Sejal is also a part-time program officer for The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. She works in several of the foundation's program areas with a special emphasis in: economic opportunities for the working poor, dance and provides fundraising technical assistance to foundation grantees. Sejal has a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and she enjoys reading, yoga and riding her tandem bike with her husband Matthew.
