The Springboard Foundation's Board of Directors is responsible for oversight and strategy in fulfilling Springboard's mission. Springboard's Members play an active role in selecting grantees, making funding decisions, and providing guidance.
Embarc had a budget of $98,000 and supported nearly 100 students. In 2016 Embarc had a budget of $1.2 million, and serves more than 700 students across 9 high schools in some of the toughest neighborhoods in Chicago. Now he's been featured in Michigan Avenue magazine, and spoken at Chicago Ideas Week. Co-founder Imran Khan likes to say, "I had a crazy idea" but it was clear upon meeting him that he had passion, a vision, and a plan to execute. Being an early funder of Embarc allowed them to gain credibility and leverage the Springboard grant to attract other funders.
