 "In 2009, our first year as a Springboard grantee, we were serving an average of 3 schools and 300 students a year. This year we are serving an average of 17 neighborhoods, 11 schools, 6 community spaces, and developing programming for over 2000 students. A large reason for the growth has been the tremendous support from Springboard. Aside from the generous funding we get every year, it was thanks to the roundtables, networking events, and well thought-out advice at our yearly site visits that helped me figure out how to transform a grassroots idea into to self-sustaining business model. In the last 5 years our support and revenue has grown, from $36,000 in 2009 to nearly $250,000 in 2014. In 2015 we went global. Green Star participated in an International Exchange with Brazil!"
