After hearing a story about violence in Chicago, Sally moved to Englewood and started asking youth what they wanted to make them feel safe. They said a boxing program. In an empty building, RTP was born. RTP now has a recording studio and employs many of the youth who have grown up through the program as coaches and program managers. Sally is tenacious just like her boxers. She is relentless in pursuing funding opportunities, building her network and leveraging being in the right place at the right time. In 2012 RTP received a $100,000 grant from A Better Chicago Foundation. In 2014 RTP was featured on Chicago Tonight and in The Daily Beast, an online news magazine with a readership of 20 million per month.
