Sunlight African Community Center's (SACC) mission is to aid and assist African immigrant youth in all aspects of community development and empowerment. We strive to provide a safe educational, social, recreational, and cultural haven for youth and adults.
During the past eleven years, SACC has been serving the community's youth, ages 6 to 13, through the Echi-di-ime Youth Development Program, which provides after school and summer school programs.
The after-school program is available to youth, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. During the summer, when school is not in session, the program runs from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. SACC provides the youth with a safe, positive environment outside of the school and the home. It serves as a deterrent and barrier to youth idleness and negative influences.
